What is WayPoint™?
WayPoint™ is a  comprehensive clinical trial management software system that keeps track of the mountains of information generated during the course of a trial.  It was developed by Appian International Research, Inc., and is only available to sponsors utilizing Appian for project management and oversight services.

Logistical questions can cause even the most well-designed trial to grind to a halt due to questions about contracts, documentation, supplies, etc.  Similarly, it is vitally important for the sponsor of a trial to regularly monitor the enrollment status of the trial, identifying and solving enrollment rate issues before they cause delays in the study timeline. 

The collection and collation of study management data can be a time-consuming, laborious process, and the production of study reports occupies much of a trial management team’s time.  Add to this the fact that both sponsors and trial management personnel are required to travel frequently, and the need for an electronically-based, efficient system for trial management is readily apparent.

The WayPoint™ Trial Management System was developed in response to these issues.  As part of Appian’s comprehensive documentation approach, it allows the Appian staff to collect and report on every aspect of a trial, from contractual details, regulatory and ethical approval status, enrollment and subject progress information, data management queries, monitoring progress, and much more. 

WayPoint Clinical ™ is customized for each trial, and Appian offers a variety of options with regard to its implementation in each trial.  These options provide additional reporting, for instance, in the case of multinational, multiphase trials.  Appian recognizes that, in the current regulatory environment, a single, “one size fits all” is not adequate to meet our sponsors’ information needs, and has thus created this dynamic, easily-adaptable database system.

WayPoint Financial™ handles the business side of trial management.  Accrued activities, vendor payables, passthrough expenses and other budgetary activities are managed within one modular, integrated system.  From the initial creation of the budget proposal through the final study invoice, WayPoint Financial™ provides your management team with real-time fiscal information necessary to meet your internal reporting requirements.
